William Shakespeare
William Shakespeare was born on April 23, 1564 in the town of Stratford-upon-Avon, England. His mother was Mary Arden, his father was John Shakespeare. His father made some money in the globe business and could not read er write. Will was the 3rd of light children, as a kid he enjoyed foothball, field sports and arguing with the referes. By the time Will was fifteen the family's business was bad, he had to start to work for a living.
Obviousey, there were not a lot of entertainment options at that time, books were not in wide circulation; theatrical troupes were like "garage bands". Actors would often write thier own plays, improvise lines and dress up in drag, so Shakespeare had the brilliant idea of becoming an actor.
When he was 18, he fell in love with Anne Hathaway, and they got married.
Little is known about Shakespeare between 1582 and 1592 except that he built a career as an actor and became a popular member of London theatre circuit.
His play writing success began with historical works. As an actor, he was a member of a theatrical company known as the LORD CHAMBERLIN'S MEN. They had great success in two famous theatres, THE GLOBE and THE BLACKFRIARS, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth and Later King James.
King James became a sponsor of Shakespeare's reformed outfit THE KINGS MEN, leuding the group money and hanging out with the lads backstage and on tour.
Theaters were enjoyed by commoners as well as privileged. Public theaters like THE HOPE, THE FORTUNE, THE RED BULL and the SWAN were "open air".
As his fame and success grew Shakespeare was able to buythe second-largest house is Stratford, called New Place, a cottage and garden nearby.
In about 1611, Shakespeare retired Permanently to Stratford having earned the status of "gentleman".
After writing many successful tragedies and comedies, he finished with a historical play, "Henry Vlll.".
In earley 1616, he wrote his "wiel", leaving his property to hid daughter Susannah, 300 English pounds to his other daughter Judith, and his second - best bed to Anne, because it was her favourite.
He did young - on his 52rd birthday. He was burried at Trinity Church in Stratford as an honored citizen. On his tombstone is carved: "Good Friend, for Jesus sake forbear to dig the dust enclosed here. Blest be the man that Spares these stores, And crused be he who moves my bones."
